These guys don't really want to fight. They just want to act tough. Knowing that nobody is going to come knock you out makes for way too much fake tough guy stuff.
Basketball players are embarrassing people to watch fight, but they need to take away extreme penalties for fighting, and then the fake stuff will go down.

It's not racial reasons why punishments are worse in bball for fighting than baseball or hockey. It's more likely that the nba doesn't want to embarrass it's self showing how terrible of fighters basketball players are. Of all athletes bball players are clearly the worst fighters and biggest sissies. That's at any high school or college there is
