Counting pro and college level of fan interests.
#1 NYC
#2 Chicago
#3 Philly
#4 North Carolina (Duke, UNC, Wake, NC State, ACC)
#5 tied between Indy and LA

No Seattle? Someone needs to take a bullet for that one.

Well obviously but definitely top 10. Sacramento? Golden State? Yeah they have loyal fans, but so did we. And when it comes to talent and a rich history...well I don't think either of those cities want to go there.

Easily over those cities, no doubt.

NY is #1 by far.
The most passionate fans on the planet. We still pay homage to ROLE PLAYERS from the 90s lol.
It's the city's game, it's played on every street corner.
The past couple of seasons we've become fed up, but rightfully so. Anybody would get angry after 10 years of ineptitude where not even 1 decision was made correctly, and all hope was lost when we traded all our picks.
I digress... NY #1

Portland, Utah have great fan bases for how small the cities are compared to some others, but they only have 1 big four sports franchise. Golden State has a great fanbase for all the abysmal years they've had the past 15 years or so.

Yes, they have solid NBA franchises, and loyal fans. Doesn't make them a "basketball city"

Indy's reputation absolutely precedes it in terms of NBA. It's average to below average at best. The state may be hoops crazy but it's college and high school, not the NBA.

Yea but Golden State always manages to draft great, exciting players: Jason Richardson, Gilbert Arenas, Monta Ellis, Latrell Sprewell, Stephen Curry, etc.
They have great scouts so its easy to see why fans tune in to watch

It's still a basketball city. And the fan base for the Pacers have been shaky at best because they have been irrelevant since 2004 / 2005-ish. Before that they were very supportive. Hard to support a boring, losing product.

They're just like any other fanbase, a few hundred or so diehards that show up regardless and the rest of the population that shows up when they win. There's nothing special about that.

The Raptors were ninth in attendance in 2008.
Their record? 33-49.
10th in the league in 2003.
Record? 24-58.
I'm not knocking the pacers, usually attendance decreases when you team is bad or below average.
