His field goal percentage might dip actually as he's not that skilled in the post but he does have a nice touch around the rim. He'll severely miss the 6-8 points a game, Wade spoon-fed him.

I'm predicting 17PPG/13RPG/3.5BPG on 55% FG and 60-65% FT. Would really like to see him improve his low post defense instead of being just a rim protector. Watching him against Al Jefferson and Jonas was pretty rough.

Honestly, I see his offense dropping off big without Wade there to get him the ball. Dragic doesn't look for the big man much in what I've seen and Hassan isn't exactly Hakeem Olajuwon in the post. Although they no longer have much offensive support so he should see more touches.

Could see identical numbers but with a fairly sizeable FG% dip.

    For the the misinformed,

Pick-and-roll chemistry is just one slice of the Heat’s overall play. Interestingly, Whiteside posted superior numbers without Wade.

Per StatsCube, Whiteside registered a 30.3 PER without Wade on the floor. When Wade was out there? Whiteside’s PER fell to “just” 23.9. Even without Wade’s assistance, Whiteside still shot 60.6 percent from the floor last season, aided by floor-spacing rookie Josh Richardson, who shot 53-of-115 (46.1 percent) from deep last season. With fewer bodies packing the paint, Whiteside enjoyed more space to work in.

On the contrary, all the objective information says floor spacing helped aid Whiteside's scoring output and overall offensive production more than Wade's screen and roll dump offs.

Whitesides improvement has to come on the defensive end....because right now he is fools gold. He is extremely elite as a shot blocker only if you are coming straight right at him...other than that his defense is very bad.

And his biggest area, by far, is needing to improve his maturity beyond a Kindergarten level.

I cant way to see this disaster without Wade closing games down the stretch.

    17/12/2.5 on 55% FG

Wade gave him an alley-oop per maybe every 3 or 4 games. It's very retarded to think that out of his 14 points, 6 or 8 were created by Wade. I agree that his field goal percentage will go down though, with more touches, he will have to create on his own more. He will still be a very efficient scorer though. 17ppg on 55% fg sounds about right.

Interesting stat, but it only really further enforces what I said on that article. It says itself that Dragic looked for Whiteside pretty much half the time Wade did, and with more of an onus on creating his own shot this year, I still think his FG% will dip.

I could be wrong, i have been before, but from watching a couple dozen Heat games last year I think Whiteside benefitted a lot more from Wade than those stats might show.

Maybe Dragon will have opportunity to throw it to Whiteside in the post instead of standing in corner while Wade dribbles around and shoots fadeaway contested shots.

    Interesting stats, good post.

Heat will be an interesting team.. If their gamble on these promising rookies pay off, they might be in playoff contention
