Dude this is what the average college athlete can do these days

Put one of these kids in the 60s and they would probably be considered one of the greatest of all time

It's just simply the fact that also the talent pool and opportunity is so much more

The superstar in the 60's is now the bench player of today most of the time

The bench players in the 80's are now D leaguers

Doesn't look right. I'm always suspicious of these touching the top of the backboard videos. I don't think he actually did. His head is maybe a little bit above rim level. Does that mean he has a 9'1" standing reach at 6'3"???

    The angle is deceptive.

At least the other videos I've seen of people reaching the top were 6'8 dudes, which is a little bit more believable. Either this guy has the longest arm to body ratio of all-time or that wasn't the top of the backboard.

We need someone professional like Cavs to analyze the video and angle properly.

You mean throw. This is how myths are born. Wilt shot putted the lion a then Olympic record 52 feet. But there were not fisticuffs. And it was an escaped African lion from a nearby zoo, not a wild mountain lion.

How can I argue that they didn't line it up with the top of the backboard, you mean? Because it doesn't look like it from the angle in the video.
