We know already who is the GOAT, but in this thread let’s try to determine who is the DUCK.


Some candidates:


MJ: Ducked out on basketball itself the minute Hakeem got a squad around him that could get to a finals. Didnt return til they were no longer a threat.


Kobe: Ducked the NBA finals throughout LeGirth’s prime in Miami. It’s fair to assume this was his intention given how embarrassingly lopsided their head to heads were in the reg season.


Kyrie: Ducked Lebron in the playoffs after demanding a trade to Boston. Had an ELECTIVE surgery just before the playoffs that he could have had earlier. Knew hed be exposed vs Cleveland after he made a big deal about being too good to play second fiddle. Ouch.


Bosh/Love: Ducked the points column in multiple NBA Finals. This one is pretty self explanatory.

1a. LeBron - ducked playing against his toughest rivals and instead joined up with him. And started the ducking trend.

1a. Durant - not only ducked trying to overcome the Warriors but joined them. In a bubble, this is worse than LeBron, but he was just following in his footsteps. LeBron's legacy is the FA duck.

my personal fav was watching X-Mas Cavs in 2010 jizz down mambas throat at Staples so hard the fans started tossing the foam fingers onto the court in the 4th qt.

The Lakers were uninspiring and unexciting, in case their angry, booing fans didn’t prove the point during a thorough 102-87 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday at Staples Center.

The Lakers lost their cool -- Kobe Bryant seemed edgy and off-kilter the entire game, and Lamar Odom was ejected in the fourth quarter -- and their fans followed suit, hurling about 50 promotional foam-finger giveaways on to the court with 4 minutes 4 seconds to play and the Lakers down 18.

The game was briefly delayed and, despite pleas from longtime in-house announcer Lawrence Tanter, more foam fingers were tossed from the stands after another foul was called with 3:45 to play. A few plastic bottles, filled with liquid, also were thrown onto the court.

Staples Center security guards assumed a more aggressive posture, several of them moving to the corners of the court and behind both benches.

Happy holidays, indeed.
