Default So Kobe "shattered" the achilles recovery timetable???

Javier Zanetti (soccer player) has just returned to official play, playing the final 10 minutes of his sides match yesterday.......and he injured it 2 weeks after Kobe! He's also 5 years older than Kobe. Remarkable really.

For anyone who doesn't know much about the sport or isn't aware of who Zanetti is or for those who are looking to downplay this achievement, Zanetti, at the age of 39, and after playing in over 800 competitive matches for Inter is a 90 minute player, week in week out. He RARELY misses a game. His total appearances for Inter Milan would translate to roughly 70,000 minutes, if not more.

He is a phenomenal athlete who's game is based on strength, tireless running up and down the wing and an unrivalled stamina. His engine is unbelievable.

He has barely lost a step and remains faster, stronger and quicker than most younger players.

    Now its Kobe's turn

HGH can do wonders. I know several athletes and they say anybody not taking HGH in big money leagues is stupid when the schedule gets tough and the body is having issues. The difference in recovery is ridiculous. 4 games in 5 days? that aint nothing on HGH.

Medicine has changed things a lot. ACL's used to end careers instead of just missing months like today.

Basketball probably demands more from the achilles then playing soccer. Also I think Kobe will be like Rose and not want to return until the feel they can contribute properly.

How naive are you? Zanetti is doping his balls off.

Yes, but, by Kobe's own account, he hasn't even started running laterally yet.

Zanetti is now back playing football, despite suffering the injury 2 weeks after Kobe.

    Hmmm, let's see...

And of course, the best player in the league right now is as non-ridiculous a HGH candidate as we have ever seen. At least Kobe gets tired during games and looks like a normal human being.

He can’t possibly be on that stuff quite as much.

He's a freak of nature, players at that age such as Ryan Giggs are used sparingly and selectively to save and prolong their careers. Zanetti plays every minute of every match and up until this injury, never looked vulnerable.

Not trying to be a dick, but was the injury the same extent as Kobe's? If it was, .

Never heard of the guy, but it's always good to hear successful recovery stories.

That could be the problem, over doing it. I read that over training can tear an Achilles tendon.
