When Chris "Birdman" Andersen decided to opt out of his contract with the Miami Heat, he knew there would be interest from other teams.

All along, he wanted to stay put.

Andersen made it official when he signed a two-year, $10 million contract late Friday night to remain with the Heat.

"It had been reported he had interest with other teams, but we always hoped to go back with the Miami Heat," said Mark Bryant, Andersen's agent.
