Is Dwight Howard a HOFer?
Is this career choke artist and team destroyer D12 going to get in to the hall of fame?

Re: Is Dwight Howard a HOFer?
Easily. If you ignore his so called character flaws and look strictly at on court performance and impact.

If this type of clown can get into HOF then might as well start letting scrubs get in HOF as well.

He seems like a career underachiever that doesn't belong in the HOF tbh. This generation's Greg Ostertag.

Good college starter
Re: Is Dwight Howard a HOFer?
What's his greatest accomplishment in the NBA? Defensive player of the year? I'm not sure that's enough.

Re: Is Dwight Howard a HOFer?
Easily. NBA's Hall of Fame is by far the weakest of the major North American sports.

Re: Is Dwight Howard a HOFer?
Without a shadow of a doubt, and I absolutely hate Dwight.
But there's no denying he was the game's top center for many years, including the time when he comprised a part of the "Hall of Fame Three" with Nash and Gasol that were brought in to LA to help Kobe win a finals. Obviously the rest is history, but you certainly can't fault Dwight for the way things panned out that season. Lakers fans were crushed when he left, as evidenced by this billboard:

Lakers fans were all universally happy to see him leave.
Jim Buss payed for that billboard, not Lakers fans.
Dwight was the best center for a short period of time in a weak era who had one fluke finals run in a bad eastern conference, and then played like shit in the finals.
Dwights peak was short and he won nothing.
What has he done that is HOF worthy other than being born in a bad generation of bigmen?

Led the league in rebounds and blocked shots while scoring 20 ppg... multiple consecutive seasons.
Did Yao Ming ever do that even once? Did Ben Wallace? A lot of guys going to the HOF didn't.
He also perennially finishes in the top half of his conference, east or west. Except the year with the Lakers when he was trying to be a good teammate and let Kobe be the alpha, and they finished 7th in the conference and got swept in the first round.

Re: Is Dwight Howard a HOFer?
Being top 4 in your conference every year doesn't deserve shit. Dwight won nothing and he was a born loser. He got good stats in a weak era against bad competition like JeVale McGee and DeAndre Jordan.
Andrew Bynum was the only other good center in the league during Howard's short peak of stats padding.
