The big guys wouldn't need to dribble - take the ball out of the basket, throw a lob, throw a lob, throw a lob, dunk. The ball wouldn't touch the floor.

The only thing that would save the little guys is endurance. If the game went for a full 48 minutes with no subs, they'd have a chance to score a lot of points in the 4th quarter when the big guys were spent.

If I had $100, I'd bet on the big guys.

Bringing it up past the halfcourt wouldn't be a problem for the bigs because they can throw lob passes. Dribbling doesn't even need to be in there game. Plus the small people would never get a rebound so they'd have to be shooting lights out.

Well, considering that the short guys are better shooters and are much quicker, I think they can score easier. They wouldn't be able to defend whatsoever and the tall guys would waste absolutely no energy in scoring.

These players have been playing ball all their life, yet people think they can't dribble a ball up the court without getting it stolen/or them dribbling it off their foot.
The short guys don't stand a chance here. Scoring would be too easy for the bigs. Even if you double team, they'd be able to get the ball deep in the post and just rise up or hook it up over the small team. Getting the ball up the court would be somewhat of an issue, but with good passes and some dribbling, they'd get there.
The small team would get crushed on defensive and on offense, they'd have to rely on their shooting, fastbreaks mostly. Driving inside for the finish would be hella tough and getting shots up over somebody a foot taller isn't easy either, doesn't matter how much quicker/faster you are. Height matters in this game...

You seem to be thinking of star 7 footers against regular combo guard. This is not the case in the matchup. There is no chance of any of these bigs dribbling face up and not getting swiped. It's possible for Yao to dribble while backing down one on one but considering none of the other bigs can space the floor the small guys will easily be able to double team all of them. And that's assuming that the bigs pass it to each perfectly enough to avoid get the ball down the court.

You have five of the most skilled and athletic players (there's no way these guys make the league otherwise) ever against some of the least skilled and coordinated players ever. Muggsy Bogues probably sees everything in half speed compared to Manute. Besides Yao, these big guys roles were just protecting the paint. It's somewhat like asking if a team of 11 goalies can beat a team of 11 midfielders in soccer.

LOL at anyone thinking the tall team couldnt get the ball up court, im betting anyone of the tall guys can back any of the short players from his own basket to the other basket with ease. Theyd score every single time up the court.

J.J Barea is listed as 6'0", but he very well could be on the short list. Seen him in RL once, and there's no way he could be taller than 5'9".

Anyways back to the question, I'd say the Tall Guys would take this, if they're not stupid. You're acting like these tall guys all have terrible handles, I'm pretty sure someone who has played basketball all their life can dribble the ball up court, without getting it stolen easily. They could just play their back against the basket the whole time. The short guys would have a hard time stealing the ball in that case, unless they double team, which leaves someone else open.

Not to mention, the tall dudes could just have 3 guys on one side of the court, 2 guys on the other, seal the paint and bait them to take outside jumpers, which is rather ineffective for the long term. The short guys will have a tough time shooting over the tall dudes. And then the tall guys get the rebound, throw a long lob on the other end, easy 2 points.

Tall guys win easily, would be like high schoolers vs elementary schoolers. Given that the tall guys aren't retarded.

All they have to do is back down the court from basket to basket, or just pass it to each other while standing there all the way down court. You must be a mental midget if you believe a bunch of shorter guys can beat people who are two foot taller.

i think deciding factor would be how many threes the short team would dare to take. because bigs are scoring on every possesion with ease. and they can semi protect the paint as well.
