Anyone that doesn't realize Bowen is intentionally doing this to guys either doesn't know the "tricks of the basketball trade" or has on black and silver colored glasses.

Why would he do it to Francis though? Francis staying in the ballgame can only be good for the Spurs.

What? I dont understand!
Fans wants to have hard fouls like back in the day. They want the defence to be allowd to play hard. Yes, that also means dirty D. I know that taking out shooters with his feet is not good D and plain dirty, but still...

people like hard play not dirty play.. there is a big difference...

A foul like Stackhouse gave Shaq in the finals was a hard foul that didnt deserve a suspension

sliding under people's feet is dirty......its akin to takin out someone's legs as they go up for a layup

he's done it to both carter and allen several times. its very dangerous. people never do the proper thing. the knicks play the spurs again this week, they should just put in cato or someone else expendable and hit not bowen, but step under duncan, or clothesline parker, or something like that.

your hurt our guy, we hurt yours. it stops **** like this real quick.

Is it your sole goal to argue in every thread. I don't think I've ever seen you come into a thread and agree with the original poster, unless it's a youtube thread. Ridiculous.

Anyway, back on subject, it should be his teammates and coach that tell him to stop it. They watch hours upon hours of their own game tape, and I'm sure they see Bowen doing his dirty stuff.

And what really sucks about Bowen, is it's almost impossible to get back at him because:
-He only shoots when he's wide open (so you can't get underneath him)
-He doesn't crash the boards
-He very rarely drives in the lane

If I was a star wingman, I'd gloat about scoring on Bowen in an up coming matchup so much that I'd get him all amped up. When he's trying to get in my face on the ball, I'll wait till he's off guard and elbow him in the head, and I mean hard.

Bowen has no place in this league, I liked him in Miami, but he continues to get notoriously worse each season.

*I did teach the players I coach his "snake bite" though.

No one should retaliate against Bowen. They should retaliate against Duncan or Parker or Ginobili. I'm sure his teammates won't like what he does as much unless it impacts them. Bowen doesn't step under the goon on the other team, it's always a scorer.

and arguing FOR dirty play is just stupid. injured players helps no one, except probably the knicks in this case.

And with someone like Isiah coaching, I could see that happening.

Send in Renaldo Balkman.

Isiah: "Hurt him good."

Balkman: "I don't think that's morally right coach."

Isiah: "What you think I drafted you for skill?"

People like Bowen can only get away with this cause of the structure of the league and punishments and such. If this was a playground, Francis would have punched him, there would have been a huge brawl, and his teammates would be annoyed. the way the nba legislates, being a sneaky dirty player is pretty much ok most of the time...

Bowen goes 110% on defense, you can say that of about 5 other players in the league, by not giving up on a play he is more likely to be in a position where someone can land on him than the rest of the league. I really have no problem with it, I mean 3 whole players in like 5 years is nothing.

while he is the most prominent of the defensive perimeter players, he's certainly not the only one. Yet for some reason no one complains about those other guys. Intentional or not, its a dangerous play and it should be discouraged.

I agree with everything in the post but I'd like to add one thing:

Bowen barely jumps on his shots, it's almost a set shot. Just another way you can't undercut him like he does to so many other players.

exactly... he's not the only player in the league who can defend, yet we dont hear about other players doing this sh*t....

I dont believe he does to hurt people, but I think he does it inspite of the fact that someone could get hurt...
