I think the plan has been to rebuild for well over a month, but it took till the trade deadline to get other teams to buy into trading with them.

Btw, Rich Cho wanted to the Blazers to blow it up when he was their GM, but Paul Allen was too blind, so he fired Cho.

Just a dumb management. Always willing to pass a SURE HOF (Jordan, Durant) to draft big men with question marks.

At the time, Oden was also considered a for sure HOF player.

    Hindsight is a b*tch.

    That being said...

....Walton, Sabonis, and Oden all had the potential to be top 10 centers.

I might as well accept the existential angst of being a Blazer fan. First round exits and crippled super-centers.

If Greg Oden plays ever again, he's playing for a team named the Suns and not a team named the Heat.

No he was not and he had question marks all over him specifically about his health (BIIIIIIIIIIIIIG warning sign right there).

Jordan and Durant had no such question marks coming out of college. They were sure things unlike Bowie and Oden.

Greg oden injuries were never considered career threatening. the only injury i remember he had was a wrist injury, I don't remember anyone ever questioning his knees. greg was also monster on defense and had the tools to become a nice scorer.

Oden's doctors told the Blazers that one of his leg was one inch shorter than his other leg. Google this and see the reports. I'm no doctor but I sure as hell would be alarmed especially considering you use your legs to play basketball.

Durant had no problems coming out of college.

So which one do I draft? The guy who doctors told me would not be able to play basketball or the guy who was about to destroy the NBA just like how he destroyed the NCAA?

Please use Google (use the search term: oden leg one inch shorter) and read the doctors' reports. I will let science do the arguing for me.
