Default How come Boozer couldnt thrive on Cleveland?

why couldn't Carlos have more success on the Cavaliers? he started 125+ games for Cleveland, nothin much happened .. when he went to utah however, very quickly the team was playoff bound with boozer as their lead scorer.. Hell, Boozer dropped a very respectable line of 24/12/3 , 54% shooting in his first playoff run (which spanned 3 series).

Of course booze was playing with Deron Williams at the time who was a scary, forgotten talent.. compared a lot to chris paul coming up.. but damn, why couldnt Cleveland squeeze any success out of this talent they had early on?

    You made me sad.

Deron Williams. What the hell happened to that?
Just shows you what a bad business decision can do to a player's career. If he stayed in Utah, we might've been talking about him very differently right now.

Why didn't they squeeze any success out of him???

They had him for 2 seasons and then tried to sign him to an extension. He lied to them and bolted.

What were they suppose to do?

jerry sloan knows how to use scoring big men. That flex offense and use of pnr's really allows them to thrive. Even Millsap and Big Al did well after he left.

Williams was also an excellent passer. For a player like Boozer you can't underestimate playing with a great passer who wants to feed you the ball at all times.

The **** is this thread? This is like saying "why couldn't DRose win MVP in his 2nd year instead of his 3rd?" He only played 2 seasons there and improved both years putting up 15 & 10 in his last year. He told Cleveland he'd come back, but decided to leave for more money supposedly. He got better by default of getting more playing time. You said he went to Utah and very quickly became successful which is false, I remember fans booing him because he was often injured his first 2 years. Utah was a better team then Cleveland at the time but Boozer didn't thrive until his 3rd year there.

If this is a LeBron hate agenda thread, they only played together one year.

Boozer was too intimidated playing with someone like Lebron who has a beautiful, natural, god-like hairline.

He had to go join Deron Williams who taught him how to apply shoe polish to his dome, allowing him to actually keep his focus on the game.

He was pretty damn good for a second year player in the league.

    16/11 on 57 TS% and a 21 PER.

They then fvcked up when trying to resign him. Or whatever the hell happened.

He most definitely thrived. For a second round pick to put up 16 points and 11+ rebounds at 22-years-old isn't thriving?

He tricked the organization into letting go of his rights and his agent immediately set up a deal with Utah. Stupid and naive by the Cavs to allow it to happen, but it was a shock when he bolted.

He was looked at as a legitimate #2 guy with LeBron for the next decade-plus.

    He Boozered us.

All of Cleveland hated him for quite some time after that. I'm sure many still do.
