Gotta agree with this. For a while the most interesting people in the Big East were the coaches.

Location to me when it comes to NY and the guard will always be a factor. NY has this "rep" of having the guards. THe flashy passing, sick handles having PGs. They've always held that rep and any kid with talent who is out on display from NY? Will get more light, more cameras, more words in thier articles over someone from another city.
Just how i feel. Nothing deep, no hatrage. Really not an issue I have bitter feelings over. Just calling it how i see it. Dont expect everyone to see it the same. You obviously dont and thats all gravy & rice.

Being from NYC helps rating but not in the sense you are detailing.
It helps because NYC High School leagues are tough as hell. The only city I will say is tougher in terms of public schools is Chicago and they blatantly recruit which is illegal in NYC.
Also I have to disagree with the view on Telfair. If he was from St Louis and killed Livingston and Washington he probably would have gotten more hype cause he would have "come from nowhere".
Don't sleep on the "out of nowhere" factor. It helped Tracy McGrady get drafted.
