How else could you decide? All star games fans can ruin?

If they just make everyone eligible that

If you're the Blazers you basically have to do it with Lillard. There is absolutely no incentive for the Hornets to do it with Kemba, though.

I remember some Pacer fans wanted PG on All-NBA and Jazz fans hoped Hayward got it so that they would have to reject the enormous difference the supermax makes for a free agent staying or leaving. Hornet fans could be in the same boat with Walker as they're not a particularly good situation for him so if they can't offer a lot more money he could easily bolt for NY or LA.

If Beal is a different case he must just feel unusual loyalty as it'll be a major victory most seasons just to make the 8th seed in Washington. Hard to see another reason why he wouldn't take a deal from a team in a big market where he could make more off the court or somewhere they have stars that he can experience postseason success with. He's the level of talent that could make or miss the Hall after his career and it will have had everything to do with the guys around him and that ability or inability to make memories in the playoffs.

Bobcats now paying Kemba, Batum, Biyombo, MKG, Marvin Williams + Cody Zellar a combined $123 million next season.

Lillard is worth it .. Klay got screwed and is the second best SG in the league because he brings it on defense. Beal is a good player but any team that maxes him out are stupid.. And Kemba is a guy that MJ may have throw 28-32 million a year at because he needs to sell seats.. But Kemba isnt going to make any team a title contender..

He won't do that for the Hornets but if the Knicks get KD and somehow fill the line-up with staunch defenders Walker could make a team like that go from just being good to being the best in the East.

Definitely true. It’s a little different with Klay though, it comes off that he doesn’t have as much of an ego as other guys in his position. He knows he’s in a great place right now and are in the progress of doing something special. I’m sure he would understand and take a deal less than supermax and not be all bent out of shape about it.

The only way he wasn't getting the super max if eligible is he decided to take less.

They 100% would have offered it if only so they didnt look like the reason the dynasty broke up if Klay went to LA or NY. Gotta be able to say you did all you could. The Warriors would be ok without Klay...but lose Klay and KD? Nah.

Every team in the NBA would offer him the most they could. If another team could supermax him they would do it just to weaken the Warriors and open up the league.
