Default DeRozan has made his case as an elite SG

I'm not here to rank players but DeMar is definitely in the conversation as an elite SG.

Consistency is his issue... as is with most players on the raptors squad

DeRozan lacks an elite first step, and is forced to take tough mid range shots a lot, but he makes up for it in his trips to the line.

A really fun player to watch when his J is working, if not... quite frustrating as a raptors fan.

remember when this Derozn guy was a young extremely athletic dude with a reputation for having insane potential?

Now hes just a clapped out dude with declining athleticism and not much to offer. I honestly think this is the first thread ive seen on him all season. Dude fell off HARD.

He's been an elite SG (top 5) , he just lacks consistency. When his shot is falling, there aren't too many better than him

    He was injured

He was all-star last season and only 25 and not even at his peak much less declining.

He isn't elite. Watch him struggle in the playoffs.

Eh, like others have said, it's a consistency thing with DeMar.

He can get to the line at an elite rate and he can hit his shots when he's got it going. But he still needs to expand his range and contribute in other areas more. His defense has been the best from previous seasons but he can still be better.

Only clear cut elite SG right now, is Harden. He's a level above everyone else. Wade can still bring huge games, just misses a lot of time and isn't as good as he once was. Kobe is done. Then there's Butler and Thompson. Lot of other guys over him I think you can make an argument over him. Still has ways to go overall.

Definitely wouldn't call him elite. Pretty good yeah. But I'm not taking him over Jimmy Butler or Harden. Maybe Thompson...
