Difficulty of opponents, schedule, other teams in the league, title run, etc.
All of a sudden, as soon as GSW broke 72 wins, it became about how they do in the playoffs...
Then there are teams with better playoff runs, so it is then about total record...
The 2000 Lakers played in one of the toughest WC ever. They, and the 16-1 Lakers the next season have a good claim. As do the 67 Sixers. As do a few other Laker teams. As do a few Celtics teams.
