Default Raps can cap off perfect offseason with trade for Taj Gibson

Wondering what you raptors fans think of the possibility of the raps pulling off this trade. Have seen it posted by someone on raps republic.

Ross, Ridnours contract, Novak trade exception and 2017 first round pick from Clippers for Taj Gibson. Or if the bulls would have a use for James Johnson instead of Ross, I'd be happy to go that way too. And keep Ross's shooting off the bench.

I think that is a fair trade for both teams. Then I bring in Dorrel Wright to mentor Bruno and you are set

    lowry, Joseph, Delon
    Derozen, dorell/bruno powell
    Carrol, JJ Daniels
    Gibson, Patterson
    Valunciunus, Biyombo Bebe

That's a pretty good fifteen player roster there. Rotate some guys down to the d league and develop players. Gibson gets a starting job and two years to prove his worth. I think with gibson, that team is a top 5 defensive team.

    thoughts?

As much as I'd like to see a Gibson trade done, I really don't like the trade package Toronto would offer.

I'm not really high on Ross, passive too often and really goes missing too much in games.

I'd like to see JJ back in a Bulls uniform, I don't know, maybe a deal can be done including him?

Yeah, maybe the bulls would rather have JJ. Bring him in for the specific purpose to guard the lebron's melo's of the league. The bulls have shooting, maybe they just need a specialist type player. Plus he is expiring next year.

I like that better as a raptor fan, since Casey doesn't seem to like JJ much.

    Derozen, Ross, powell
    Carrol, dorell/bruno Daniels
    Gibson, Patterson
    Valunciunus, Biyombo Bebe

Raps could do JJ, Bebe ridnour contract and novak exception for Gibson. You think bulls would bite?

Bulls are not stupid enough to take that one trick pony...I hope

Solid backup PG, JJ, and exception...yeah, I think Bulls would give that a serious look.

Thought about this yesterday but was too lazy to look up Gibson's contract. Only issue with Gibson is his durability. He's the perfect complement to Val.

JJ kinda makes sense with the Bulls. He's shown some glimpses of being able to stop Lebron / Melo at times. Bulls could use another person to play against Lebron. After Butler they don't have anyone.

Where you been, BN? Feel like I have not seen you on the main forum in a while.

As for the trade, I'd rather get rid of Pau than Gibson in a vacuum. And before last year, Ross would have been a nice pick-up. But now? I'm not so sure.

I think the Bulls need to trade Taj or (preferably) Pau to open up front court minutes for Mirotic. Really kick our offense in to high gear. But I'm not sure this is the deal to do that. Just because one team has an embarrassment of riches at a position doesn't mean they should under-sell themselves.

the carroll pick up was retarded. i know everybody got their hate on for terrence ross last season and it was well earned, but they gave up on him too fast. he'll have equal value to carroll in a few years.

gibson would be terrific next to jv though, i'd love to watch that frontline. hell he could play with patterson too.

agreed with above poster who said james jones would fit nicely on the bulls. but that guy could fit anywhere.

I'm very surprised that this is not a sarcastic thread. Raps are not good and won't be much better even with the addition of Taj. They got smoked in the playoffs. Unless big Val starts going nuts, this team will be stuck in mediocrity for a long time.

I agree that the thread title is hyperbole, but they are still a team that will make the playoffs and it seems more likely that they want to go all in with the current core while stock piling future assets.

All their acquisitions have been defense first players and didn't even offer Lou Williams a contract because they want to change the identity of the team and still win a round.
