Re: Greek National Team Scrubs That Are Coveted By The NBA
can we get a mod to move these threads to international where they belong so they don't turn into flame wars all the time?
His threads are just getting worse and worse, he used to just post the news that painted euroleague in a favourable light, but now he writes up quotes with his own embellishment on what they mean which then does not show up in the articles for the quotes or he just attacks the NBA at any chance he gets with delusional statements like because 3 bad greeks are role players in the NBA the whole league is inferior to the greek team? WTF is that reasoning?

Lol @ euroleague. Weak ass competition. The place where regular NBA scrubs turn to euroleague GOAT. Word to Anthony Parker.

Euroleague owned and raped, as usual. However, no one seems to have pointed out that if you are on the Greek NT, then it means you are considered one of Greece's best players, right?
What does it matter then that Koufos is 3rd string. Or Calathes is a backup? They are still in the NT of Greece! One of the 12 or 15 best in Greece! Does this mean the players they are backing are necessarily better that they are? Not necessarily, especially in Europe.
It has already been pointed out here many times by Euros that starting and coming off the bench are meaningless in Europe? Am I right or am I wrong? So what does it matter, again, being backups on Greece's best team?

EUROLEAGUE. That's not how it works in national teams. The best players almost always start in national teams.
And no way in hell is Calathes and Koufos in Greece's top 12-15 players. Top 20 is more like it.

It doesn't matter whether Koufos or Calathes is among the top 10 or 20 in Greece. That's a matter of opinion, and your coaches have put them in your NT for a reason. Surely you believe Greece is a top basketball nation in the world. Correct? If it is, then shouldn't it's top 10 or 20 players be considered for the NBA?
BTW, it's not like Koufos has dominated the NBA in ANY way. And Calathes has not done zilch in the NBA. I'm sure you don't want to be reminded of other Greek NT failures in the NBA like Span and Schrsnt(Summer league bust.)

And numerous NBA players did not do jack shit in Euroleague when they played there.
WTF is your point?

Koufos was the starting center of the Denver Nuggets last year.
He has varied between either being the 3rd string center on the Greek national team, or not even being invited to play on the team.
Nick Calathes - NBA player
On the Greek national team, he has been the backup point guard, behind Vassilis Spanoulis. Also, the only reason Calathes ever even made the Greek national team, was because Dimitris Diamantidis refused to play. Otherwise, Calathes would never have even made the Greek national team.
So, to make clear...............
Koufos is a 3rd string C, or not even invited on Greek national team, but in the NBA he was a starter.......
Antetokounmpo can't even get invited to the training camp of the Greek national team, and he's already in the NBA, with the Bucks claiming he will be a rotation player this year.
Calathes, who was Vassilis Spanoulis' backup on the Greek national team, has now been given a rotation spot on the Grizzlies, according to most reports........
Yep, the NBA sure is "superior" alright..........
If a Greek player could dominate in the NBA, your logic would make sense. Until that happens, no one gives a shit.

When Kosta Koufos is top anything, you know your league is awful. Dude is top 200 in the NBA on a good day.

First of all, you have been exposed many times regarding NBA players who have not performed in the Euroleague. Mind you, NBA players aren't necessarily on Team USA. Many NBA players are in the NBA, yes, but barely. Meaning, they are borderline NBA players.
The point of the thread is Greek NT "scrubs coveted by the NBA." What I'm saying is : Can a top 10 or 20 player in a NT of a top basketball country like Greece actually be a scrub? Calathes is definitely not a scrub in Greece. Although he might still be a scrub in the NBA.
The whole premise of your thread is wrong.
