And he's blowing his load a month before the playoffs even start.

Eh he's becoming overrated now with this run. The fact of the matter is...he's extremely streaky. In january he averaged 21 points on a pathetic 20 shots...an entire month needing to take 20 shots to average 21 points. Then in february this past month he averaged 31 points on 22 shots. That's a huge difference...

In these four games that he's had a triple double...he's averaging 37 points on 30 shots. That isn't exactly impressive. I honestly don't believe a team will win anything if he is their best player and first option. He's just too streaky. He also has a lot of trouble coexisting as a 2nd option. I'm positive that he'd be his happiest in a Jerry Stackhouse 2001 Pistons situation...where he could shoot 30 times a game, every game.

As a raw athlete that guy is at least as athletic as Westbrook minus weight training of course.

Jordan is a better athlete than both of them.

If size counts for athleticism (which in my opinion it absolutely does because the greater your size and strength the more easily things in the game of basketball come to you athletically) even guys like Kobe and Wade. Does T-mac count as guard? How bout for sheer size and strength Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson, both 220+lbs able to post up power forwards without ever touching a weight room.

Also guys like AI, pre injury Rose... I mean, there's so many great athletes past and present at the PG spot. Westbrook is a great athlete no doubt, but depending on your criteria of athleticism he's not the greatest ever guard, nor is he necessarily once in a lifetime, as many guys will recall players like David Thompson, Michael Jordan, etc who were visibly as good or better athletes.
Not necessarily disagreeing CavsTHW, but I've never seen a player (watching since early 90s), that looks as strong, as fast, and explosive for his relative size as Westbrook.

It's alright fellas, there are great players here right now, and it doesn't diminish past greats.

even if you choose to ignore the stats showing that Jordan dunked literally 3 times as often, we have proof that westbrook is an inferior athlete to MJ:

Westbrook can't dunk from the FT line, whereas Jordan did it with ease... /end thread

So for people to look back now and say "Westbrook can **** with MJ" is sheer recency bias, plain and simple.

MJ was bigger, stronger, more powerful, with WAY more hops.. any other assessment is simply a delusion and wishful thinking.

You are embarrassing MJ with your insecurity. Reported.

Also, 3ball, you are hereby kicked out of the Lebron family.

MJ would probably get dunked on by Westbrook

he will do what every great player does..continue to improve his jumper and his post up......westbrook has a butter mid range game and is good in the post..he'll age quite fine

Yeah and we all know what happened to Baron Davis's game as soon as he lost all his athleticism......

Westbrook simply can't do this, period.. Actually, there isn't anyone in the league that can do it.

It represents an entire different level of capability that no one else has.

Agreed, Westbrook is definitely a better athlete than Jordan.

Westbrook isn't nearly close to Jordan's level of athleticism
