should the Cavs have hired a veteran coach instead?
Blatt may be a good coach but on a team full of egos and superstars, no one wants to listen to an unproven coach.

when has ego been an issue for this team outside of the little remarks Kyrie made after the 1st couple games?
the coaching is not the issue...many of the players have a defensive handicap to them, some just need time to adjust their role. it's a growing pain, but will be worked out. 1/10th the season in so far...much more to go before blame is to be passed, the Cavs have had a few good games and are talented, there's no way but up for them right now.

The whole point of hiring an inexperienced coach was so Lebron could be the real coach. Get with the program.

Good college starter

Blatt was hired on June, 20th... Lebron signed with the Cavs on July, 12th

Re: should the Cavs have hired a veteran coach instead?
Remember that video of David Blatt cussing out his players in the huddle back when he coached in the Euroleague? Everyone thought he was a badass. Then he gets into the NBA and he turns into a straight p*ssy. The NBA is not for everyone.
And besides, Lebron would still choke under Phil Jacskson so its not like hiring a good coach would make a difference. Lebron needed 2 coaches (Pat Riley and Spo) to win in Miami.

So you think there is a coach except Popovich that is allowed to do that ? You really think you can cuss out lets say Kyrie and just go on. It doesnt work like that in the NBA ...

Re: should the Cavs have hired a veteran coach instead?
You could tell by watching Blatt is gonna have difficult adjusting to NBA life. Every NBA coach does.
But with a team like the Cavs, it is not gonna work.
If they are a 2nd round exit, he'll be the scape goat.

Very good NBA starter

They knew he was coming back. Basically, they (and he) wanted a Spoelstra, but with no Riley looming over his shoulder.
