Gotta give credit where it's due..Harden is the clear MVP right now if we're factoring in circumstances. Dude is single handedly dragging the SG position out of the shitter. Gonna be interesting to see how his game changes and how the team reacts to having Dwight back, but I have a feeling what he's doing is sustainable.

Hard to tell if they have been playing well or not when the competition is that easy.
So OKC winning nearly 75% of their games over the last three plus seasons with KD and RW playing isn't enough to convince you how impactful and dominant that this duo is and it is necessary to see them against better competition?
Their 3-12 start just illustrated their importance to any doubters out there of how good they truly are, and thus my MVP's.

Can't be plural though, only if some strange CoMVP's scenario happens

I think it's unfair to Westbrook, throwing Durant into the mix. Durant has made a nice return so far, but Westbrook has been absolutely dominant in his return.. I'm sure KD will return to that MVP impact form soon, but watching the games, Westbrook's really driving them right now. I think he deserves that distinction.

Fair enough.
RW has been outstanding and he's doing it by playing under 30 minutes per game this season. His numbers per 36 minutes just illustrate how dominant his play has been:
31 ppg, 7 rpg and 8 apg and 50% fg

Hmm like this list, Lebron's will be moving his way up as we get closer to all-star break. He's been doing this for the last 3-4 years. RW is too low but I guess they weight games played quite heavily.

I know we had that disagreement in the Spurs thread about Parker, but even you can admit him being anyway near the top 15 is beyond absurd. He's missed a bunch of games, but even in the ones he played he clearly wasn't better than Duncan, Kawhi, Green, Manu etc.

Oh definitely
I don't know why based on his play so far he's in the top 15.. It would just look so outrageous to casuals if it would say Danny Green, instead of a high profile name like Tony Parker.

Lillard and Paul are CRIMINALLY underrated. How are they NOT MVP candidates? Lillard has emerged as the best player on the Blazers team, and he's been so much better than LMA this year it's not funny. He's been as good as Lowry, but on an elite WC team.
LeBron is listed that high on name alone -- he might not even be top 10. 11th in win shares, 17th in win shares per 48, 8th in RAPM, 7th in PER, alarmingly high turnover rate, has pretty much stopped getting offensive rebounds, mediocre defense, eye test, underperforming team in the East.
Still a fantastic year by almost anyone else's standards, but barely top 10, if even THAT.
Compare his year to CP3's, and you can see why LeBron is the beneficiary of some media love and rose-tinted glasses to be on everyones top 5 when CP3 has been completely overlooked. Better year, playing on a better team. That's just one example.

James over Lowry

Re: 2014/2015 NBA MVP Ladder Thread
how it should be IMO
1. Stephen Curry
2. James Harden
3. Russ (has missed a lot of time, but if the Thunder win 50+ games he has an awesome case)
4. Marc Gasol
5. Damian Lillard
6. Kyle Lowry
7. Anthony Davis (team record holds him back).
8. CP3 (underrated this year, had a scorching start, but has regressed).
9. Jimmy Butler
10. LeBron James/John Wall
H/M: DMC, Duncan, Griffin, Dirk, Klay, Millsap, Tyson Chandler
