Look, the reality is Jordan and Kobe's careers really aren't similar in the way they played out. There's all kinds of subjectivity that can be tossed into the argument and spun to suit the agenda. Jordan and Lebron's careers are far more comparable as they were both drafted onto loser franchises and took the reins from day one. And even then, Lebron had already played 3 seasons by the time he was Jordan's rookie age. All these guys coming into the league at 18/19 pretty much have some kind of leg up in terms of all-time stats and totals; they'll have played longer than guys from 20 years ago to amass higher total stats.

    1. Michael Jordan - 30.1 ppg

    3. LeBron James - 27.6 ppg

Jordan's FGA per game over his career match up with Kobe's pretty precisely, except that Jordan normally shot a little more.

Jordan tried 24537 fgas and 8772 ftas.
Kobe tried 24301 fgas and 9468 ftas.

If Jordan hit all of his attempts, he would have scored 59624 points.
If Kobe hit all of his attempts, he would have scored 62949 points.

Kobe played 167 more games. Still needs 676 points.

What's the point of keeping this idiotic claims?

Kobe has challenged himself to become a great 3pt shooter, so of course his FGs are gonna be skewed.

Jordan was afraid of 3 pters

    Keep in mind:

Kobe came out of HS (so he has more NBA years than Jordan)
    Jordan retired for two years

This copycat will always be second-rate to Jordan.

can't compare it like that. Look at games played.
MJ played 89 games in those 2 seasons while Kobe played 150.

Great accomplishment but in terms of legacy I don't think it will say much of anything other than he was a great scorer who started out really young and played a long time.

Don't forget he was a much better player than Jordan at age 18, so he should have been as good as 21 year old rookie Jordan......but

Amazing. That's a big accomplishment. Wont put him in front of Jordan all time, but I still don't see how it's a bad thing....

    Maybe change title of thread....
