Default Wondering if this type of laptop still exist in 2019?

    Laptop that

    1. Has compatibility with Chrome Browser

    2. Has a DVD/CD drive

I noticed that Chromebooks don't have DVD drives on their computers. I also prefer to use the Chrome Browser over Microsoft Edge

...everything has a compatibility with Chrome. If you want a dvd/cd drive you are going to have to custom buy or pick it as an add on as they don't make that standard anymore as this is 2019 and not 2002.

you can get an extrernal DVD drive for $15-20 that plugs into your USB.

to switch out of S mode, follow this:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...-out-of-s-mode

if that still doesn't help you, google has 102,000,000 results on "switch out of S mode."

S-Mode is a more locked down version of Windows 10 that limits the kind of software you can put on your device as a security measure, but it's easy to switch to full Windows. Simply follow the instructions in the link DCL provided.

As for a DVD player, you can always get a portable drive for a relatively good price on Amazon. Here are a few.

Granted you'd now have to walk around with the added weight and unwieldiness of the portable drive and it's cable, but it would save you from having to buy a new computer, and you could walk around with your present, lighter computer when you don't need the DVD drive.

If you have a lot of older DVD's, I suggest you digitize them using Handbrake and DVD Decrypter. These are both freeware apps. DVD Decrypter will allow you to decrypt the the protection on older DVD's and Handbrake will compile the video to whatever form you choose for output. I did this to hundreds of old DVD's we had around the house and stored them on a server that I can stream from any time. When I travel for business I usually save 5 - 10 of them on my laptop that I think I may want to watch. The great thing about doing this is once you do it, the original DVD's never have o be used so they stay in good condition just in case.

Note: DVD Decrypter does not work on Blue Rays and newer DVD's. The program is no longer supported so they have not kept up with the current new encryption. Also, if you do this, it is really a gray area as far as legality but if you actually own the physical copies, it is highly unlikely you would get in trouble unless you distribute them. It is definitely unlawful to distribute the digital copies.

I think he is talking about the actual Chrome operating system used on Chromebooks. That is different than the Chrome browser that can be installed on Windows, Mac, or Linux. The Chrome operating system actually controls the entire computer in place of Windows, Mac, or Linux.

I am sure there is a way to install the Chrome operating system on a Windows machine. You will probably have to search for a how to on the internet. Below is a link to one "how to". I have no idea if it works. I have never tried it. I have done some switching back and forth from Windows to Linux. That was easy and I am sure installing Chrome is too if you find the right "how to" article.
