IMO he could benefit from some weight loss.

Agreed. He looks sluggish, which makes it impressive that he is as good as he is.

Yeah early in the season, I heard SVG say yeah he can rebound but wish he was a better rim protector.

Knicks all da way
Re: Pistons wish Drummond would play harder
13 for 36 doesn't mean he isn't trying hard enough, some of it is at least mental with this kid.

Reggie Jackson needs to recruit Serge Ibaka.

Great, that point is.

Game. Set. Match.

Low-motor was the biggest knock against him coming out of College. It's why he dropped to #9 in the draft. You can't teach desire. Just have to hope it comes with maturity.

Indeed. It's actually pretty interesting that he's able to perform as well as he does sometimes. I know he's one of the hugest humans ever, but there's been some similarly huge guys in the league who haven't come close to becoming the nightly 20-20 threat Drummond has become.
That said, it seems he's somehow able to approach these numbers without super incredible skill. He's not the hardest worker on the floor, and probably not the second, third, or fourth hardest worker. His post game is rudimentary (which is a level above what it used to be). He's slow when it comes to anticipation and defensive rotations. Generally speaking, he's kind of the antithesis of a student of the game.
But again, he's still super young and he's already surprised me with his post game development (again, it's limited but that righty hook is more than I ever thought he'd be capable).
Brandon Jennings spoke up the other night and bluntly said the Pistons didn't have a leader, stating a lot of players are talking the talk but few, if any, are walking the walk. I don't know these guys firsthand so it's tough to say, but Drummond and Reggie Jackson both give off the vibe of quintessential, youth-inspired immaturity.
