Default How likely are Game 7 upsets at home in the first round?

I believe there's some ridiculous stat like no team has won a game 7 no the road in the Finals in the modern era.... What is the likelihood in the first round? Pacers could potentially be upset in the first round as the 1st seed. Golden State also has great upset potential. I think OKC should be fine now that Durant has his game back.

    Who knows the odds?

I'd give the Hawks and Memphis good chances of pulling upset wins.

Can't see Golden State winning game 7.

I could be wrong but I think the Clippers won a game 7 in Memphis a couple of years back? Same series they came back from 27 or whatever it was I think.

OKC/Golden State will lose, Pacers will win.

    Book it.

The road team has won just 23 of 114 game 7s in NBA history.

Hawks and Memphis have looked better than their opponent for the majority of their match ups and both already have multiple wins in their opponent's building. Not only do they know they can beat them but they know they can beat them in their own place.

In past game 7s usually it is the case where the road team has only won their games at home while never really being able to steal one on the road. Both teams are not facing that psychological barrier.

The flat out better teams will win game 7.
    Memphis
    Atlanta
    And unfortunately LA

    No idea.

Any of those teams could pull off the upset, but I think I would say that Hawks might be more likely to pull it off.

Memphis looked like the better team throughout the series, but Mike Conley getting hurt lower their chances for me.

Golden State surprise me so far. It's amazing how they pushed it to game 7. I thought it would be over in 5 games. I don't see the Clippers losing game 7, but this series and the playoffs have been unpredictable. Curry and Klay could go off anytime.

All of Memphis's wins have been in OT and 2 out of 3 of their losses have been blowout ones.

Obviously, I'll take Pacers over Hawks any day...

As to the other match ups, I get it that Durant played well this time but I see his 1st 5 games coming back in Game 7 bigtime. And oh, as well as Westbrook's. With that I predict a Grizzlies upset!

    Golden State? No chance!
