Based on an individual skill-set, yes, I think it's fair to say Kobe is at least top 5. Unfortunately, there are other ways to evaluate a players greatness besides his "skill-set".

no MJ never lose a finals game .... /end thread.. 6 out 6 ... that simple.. and MJ is the clear cut #1 option to all of those games.. kobe may have won as many but often times 2nd fiddle to a big.... so please i dont care who john wooden is ive seen both guys play .. so i dont care who he is.. who knows he could be a laker fan like you..

I'm pretty sure the greatest never got swept by an inferior team, lost in the Finals twice, has 6 rings and won Finals MVP for all of them, and has a 50% FG rating.

Kobe wasn't even the best player on his team. Gasol led the Lakers in Win Shares in 2009. He led the Lakers in Win Shares and PER in 2010 and led the entire playoffs in WS in the playoffs in 2010.
In 2011, Gasol led the team and was 2nd in the league in Win Shares. In the playoffs Kobe was 5th on the team in Win Shares and 6th in Win Shares Per 48 minutes.
