Giving that contract, along with the keys to the team, to Reggie Jackson will be the bane of Van Gundy's existence. He can't shoot, and he's not a point guard, even though they're paying him to be one. He can't run an offense. He has poor court vision and awareness. All he can do is drive to the rim, which he does well, but that's not all they're paying him to do. He should be coming off the bench as a 6th man scoring guard. Terrible signing and positioning.

Aside from that, the bench is too weak. Getting Jennings back will help at the PG spot, and Stanley Johnson is going to be really good, but it's too thin everywhere else.

It's been sort of fun to bask in the premature Pistons hype that comes with a 3-1 start. I'll take it while it lasts, because that six game West Coast road trip is probably going to snuff most of this talk out.

They have a cult following now, but people weren't exactly crawling over one another to watch the Pistons play the Pacers in 2004. Always interesting to see how that series has been canonized but at the time, all anyone did was complain about how offensively deficient and boring those two teams were.
