he recently did a pretty cool breakdown on floyd weather's 'wrestle-boxing' and why it would be very useful for MMA grapplers. especially seeing as how they often try to play it safe with the jab and wind up getting clocked by strikers... not getting their main skills in to a match enough.
as good as floyd has been with that, he's actually only done it a lot more recently. in many of his early fights, he would just bounce off the ropes, avoiding major shots but eat some body shots on the way. he's gotten smarter...not that he insanely stupid with it, but he was just that good (and cocky).
to me, floyd is probably the best defensive boxer since pernell whitaker and he's 10x more fluid offensively. guy just has insane timing and ability to shrug/block with his hands.
oh ya, and i marked out to that fedor taking down big nog clip hardcore. still GOAT to me and the only guys that i can see overtake that right now are jones or silva. it was so much fun watching fedor take out former UFC HW champs or top 5 guys in the UFC (when they were actually in their prime in pride). that and he was usually giving up 25+ pounds. his sambo was world class and he was one of the most versatile HW's to ever fight.
i'm only disappointed he didn't drop his damn agent and corner that held him back in his last few years. having a kid and seemingly becoming more religious played a factor in that as well imo. but in his prime? there's not many dudes that would want to mess with him. he would eat up jones' leg kicks like nothing. not an easy guy to take down either and if you did, he had sub ability off his back. jones would certainly be a challenge and possibly even win....but fedor could have really taken out 90% of the HW division in UFC back in the day. there's a reason dana offered him so much money. don't let bald headed tae bow dana tell you otherwise.

wow. he was stoked after that fight. can we please stop acting like MJ is this terrible demon drug though? if this happened in NV, it wouldn't be a problem since it has both medical and decrim laws in place. now it's become border wars. you can go on an all night bender destroying shit, pass a random test 12 hours later. can't be around pot smoke for about four weeks or you're fried...literally.

nice comments as usual. really sucks for me that i only caught the tail end of fedor's career. i'm still not sure i've ever seen another HW with his combo level of heavy and fast hands.
the one and only fought he clearly lost IMO, i think he could have beaten BF a number of ways but decided on the insane tactic of standing powerhooks against him... and actually took the first round. whatever happened to him, his brain definitely checked out of his body the last few years... as you said.

really blows for him since it was a great statement win and that he only lit up a month previous at the urging of friends (or so he says). but at least he's handling it like a gentlemen. and SPEAKING of nick diaz, he's now the president of a new fight org in cali. reefer not optional, i would assume.

It doesn't matter what state. It's against the rules. It's crazy that it's considered a performance enhancing drug, but thems the rules. Now, Nate Diaz just got suspended for defending Healy on twitter:
"I feel bad for pat Healy that they took a innocent mans money and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest *** in the world"
He was suspended for the use of a homophobic slur. He was referring to Bryan Caraway and not whoever at the UFC that hands out the fines.

That sucked. Was hoping to see Rockhold take it and possibly get a shot. I don't see how Vitor vs either champion (Silva, Jones) turns out any differently than what we've seen. Unless Weidman wins it I guess.
