Right. I understand this. But there's not a ton of teams that can offer him huge money. Houston was one. And now maybe they're not. One less team to offer an offer sheet gives Indy a better chance of just outright negotiating an extension instead of needing to match.

I'm not saying it means Indy'll get him for 5/55 or something. I'm saying it takes a potential max offer off the table potentially.

Doubt it. No teams are going after Hibbert because they know they have no chance of getting him. Because the Spacers will offer full max.

Maybe, maybe not. But if they give him the full max w/o at least trying to leverage the fact that there's not many other suitors that'd do that then I'd be pretty disappointed in Donnie Walsh.

Why not go after Anthony Randolph Morey? He will be cheaper and just as effective?

Good point. Houston was probably the biggest threat. Dallas and Portland could still make that offer, but it's not as likely.

So pretty much 8 mill a year to stand in the paint and be 7 feet tall?

If Peter Falk (his agent) says max or else though, I'd much prefer matchig an offer sheet max then just negotiating one. One year less, smaller raises.

Hibbert hates our team as much as Dwight does so he was a never a real option.

    Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA

After Houston tonight, Blazers GM Neil Olshey will meet with Chicago center Omer Asik and make him an offer, sources tell Y! Sports.

No he doesn't. Rocket fans took a quote out of context and REALLY ran with it.
