Richie's Keys to Success
* Push the tempo
– The Sixers aren’t a great running team, and the Nuggets are coming off a high-scoring game against the Wolves. The Nuggets have to keep the tempo up and try to outrun the Sixers, especially since they aren’t used to the Altitude.
* Assist the ball
– The Nuggets have to assist the ball well tonight against a Sixers team that allows 22 apg by their opponents. The Nuggets had great ball movement against the T-Wolves, and they need to keep it up and break down the 76ers’ defense.
* Contain Iguodala
– Andre Iguodala is coming off a 6-17 shooting performance and is going to try to pick up his scoring tonight. He’s scoring 20+ points in 8 of his last 12 games. The Nuggets have to look to contain him and not let him be a scorer, rebounder, or playmaker as well as they can.
Speaking of assisting the ball well, AI hasn’t had a double-digit assist game since December 12th, and is averaging just 4.7 assists per contest in his last 7 games, and his season average has dipped down to 6.9. In his last game against Philly, he had 30 points and 9 assists, but also 7 turnovers. Melo averaged 29 ppg on 48% shooting in his career against the Nuggets. Melo had just 4 boards against Minnesota and was rebounding very well prior to that. Hopefully he can hit the glass well tonight. Camby only averages 7 rebounds per game against Philly in his career. Andre Miller averages 8.6 assists in his career against Denver.
