Memphis trades for Matt Barnes

Memphis has agreed to trade Luke Ridnour to Charlotte for Matt Barnes, league sources tell Yahoo.

Charlotte can waive Ridnour's non-guaranteed deal, but Grizzlies plan to keep Barnes in final year of his deal.

Memphis is loaded at the wing, and not in a great way. Green, Lee, Carter, Barnes, Allen are all vets that deserve court time. Then they have younger guys.

Further trades incoming. Likely some version of salary dumps to keep Gasol without killing tax.

Barnes' attitude fits in really well with Memphis' style. He'll fit right in from an attitude standpoint.

The team could use a better scorer, but he's still a plus defender, chippy attitude, and he can knock down threes if given the space.. which is more than you can say for most of their wings.

I say Memphis keeps Lee, Allen, Barnes.. trades Carter and Green in salary dumps of a sort... and then resigns Marc.

That's actually a really good deal for both sides. Thunder could really use a stable vet like Ridnour off the bench.

Memphis should try to turn Jeff Green and Carter into Eric Gordon. No, that deal doesn't make any sense for the Pellies. I just think EJ could be a really good fit in Memphis though.

Barnes is a solid enough bench player for a really good team, but this team needs shooting.

Grit and Grind is great and all, but they really need to add some quality shooting.

Jeff Green also needs to just go...he does nothing for them at all.
