1- the team badly needs an upgrade from Larkin & prigioni as rotation players/injury starters. Both guys worthy of being 2nd string pg's. Just not good fits in a 2 guard front offense.

2- having knight in addition to shumpert gives the Knicks leverage in that neither could really hold them hostage because if a team comes after one of them hard enough as a rfa the Knicks won't have to bend over and sign a deal they shouldn't just because they can't replace the piece.

but the knicks are set up with money to spend. dont pull a joe d and spend just bc you have the $. knicks aint looking at shumpert like a piece they cant replace. they dont need to have knight to draw a hard line.
