Default What players in the last 25 years had a SUDDEN drop off?

What players were good, and then the next season had a sudden extreme decline? I think of Karl Malone, I can't remember if its when he went from the Jazz to the Lakers or his next to last season on the Jazz, but he went from an all-star to a mediocre player in 1 year.

Andrew Bynum went from being an all-star and top 2 center in the league one season (2011-2012) to barely playing in Indiana/Cleveland (2013-2014) the next. That's the biggest drop-off I've ever seen in a player. He succumbed to injury woes. Hopefully his knees are better today.

    Iverson.

As soon as he went to Detroit.

He also had a problem in that he wouldn't accept anything less than being the star. So, even though his ability from 2009-2011 coulda allowed him to be sixth man of the year, he wasn't having it.

Yeah, but Bynum's 2011-2012 season was the exception, not the rule.

He was always injury prone, so no one was really shocked by his eventual dropoff.

I dont thin k you're recalling Malones last season correctly. His production dipped because he he accepted being a 3rd fiddle/ role player... And also he was 40 freaking years old. Even still, that's not that bad all things considered. Before he busted his knee, he was productive given his role, and lakers were well on thier way to another ship. Whatever you saw in the playoffs was Malone playing injured.

Fun fact, his final season with the lakers was the only season he missed any significant time with an injury. Dude was the epitome of durability.

Kobe went from averaging 27 ppg in 12-13 to just 14 ppg in 13-14.

That is literally the biggest drop off I've ever seen, and I say that as a HUGE stan of his.

Yeah, when I read Malone I was like WTF

Malone is one of the most durable players that aged well into his twilight.
