Default Embiid delayed surgery last year "SO HE COULD ENJOY THE SUMMER"

    C'mon Philly. C'mon.

Could have had surgery in the spring, delayed it until the fall so he could "enjoy the summer".

Its one thing to have a ton of young guys and not win. Its another to schedule surgeries so your best player misses the entire season. AGAIN.

This is what guaranteed contracts are all about.

Players union gets these dudes so much unearned money, and a lot of idiot fans like Sarcastic are such stupid pansies they think if the league didnt have guaranteed contracts "itd be racist"

Not every player is like that. I still am for guaranteed contracts.

The NBA owners make a killing on these men... the salary they give to player is less than the actual money being brought in from the players.

These are multi billionaires that are stingy with money. If they could pay players 10,000 a year, they'd do it in a heartbeat.

Too bad he's 7ft, athletic, and "has potential". Some dumbass GM will fall for the hype and Embiid can stay collecting paychecks for years to come.

Who cares what the owner makes? That doesnt effect the play on the court.

I dont care if a guy like Lebron or Dirk or CP3 who goes out and earns his money gets paid 100M a year.

But there are so many guys who get paid then **** their teams over. Its an insult to fans. The competition level would be WAY higher without guarantees. Theres no resson to support them as fans IMO. I dont need to play Robin Hood for other grown men.

Shaq did the same thing when he played for the Lakers.

It's a bit different if youve actually BEEN PLAYING tho.

Embiid has played zero pro minutes in two years making 5 million every year.

Youd think hed have some urgency to take care of his health business as soon as possible and be ready to have a chance to play.

Need to end guaranteed contracts in the NBA.

Amazing there's a model doing almost everything right for the league staring right in their face, and the NBA keeps stubbornly ****ing itself in the ass.

seems like it helped Philly get all that really matters to them, a chance at more top picks. They probably approved of this.

He sure did. And got crucified. And that was when the surgery just cost him the first 3 weeks of the season, not the entire season as it did with Embiid. BTW, he won a title that season.

And you cats trying to get rid of guaranteed contracts are off your rockers.

The point here was that Philly was on board for this. They didn't say "NO" as they clearly should have.

    First it's a rumor, 99% not true.

Second, if Embiid didn't had a guaranteed contract, Philly would have waived him? Really? Great example to use against guaranteed contracts!! lol

Third, damn another player having to go abroad to get respectable treatment.

    Fourth, stfu dumb redneck.

    Nothing prevents unguaranteed contracts.

You can offer it all you like, it's just that another team will happily guarantee those years.

The union already isn't the strongest, and some of you want to turn them into the shit show that's the NFLPA
