The "Atlanta" Hawks may not have any rings, but the Hawks franchise does. It won the 1958 title against the Celtics as the St. Louis Hawks.

I live outside of Atlanta and it's all about the Braves, UGA, and racing (not necesarilly in that order). For whatever reason there just isn't much interest in basketball and even pro football to an extent.

The Hawks have a championship. Dumb Knicks fan. Give Atlanta (or any other team for that matter) the resources the Knicks have always had and they'd easily win 4 or 5 championships. The Knicks have the worst front office in all of sports.

Falcons are extremely popular when they are winning. Probably the most popular. Last year there was minimal buzz due to all the injuries and the bad season. The Hawks are definitely the least popular of the major teams in Georgia.

One positive note is that we don't have to worry about getting blown to bits down here.

The Knicks are the most over hyped franchise in pro sports. Their fans try to put them in the same boat as LA or Boston when they don't have anything close to the same accomplishments as those two franchises. Yeah, NY has a star player, but Melo is a career loser. He didn't even get NY to the players last year. All he is really is a more athletic Glenn Robinson.

I'm still waiting on Am are and Melo to get NY those titles... Oh, that's right... They couldn't get NY to the playoffs despite the fact that the east is the weakest that it's ever been. And NY pays these guys max dollars for that kind of failure.
