raps off-season.
If we strike out on Aldridge I think a good plan B is to trade away Derozen for Faried. Faried is locked into a reasonable contract for next 4 years. Derozen will be asking for too much next off-season.
Spend our free-agent money on Demarre Carrol, and Cory Joseph, dorell wright and a back-up big (maybe Joel Freeland)
pg / combo g lowry, cory joseph Delon wright. Play these guys together in lots of 2 pg looks.
Sg Ross (his chance to start) Dorrell Wright/Bruno Dorrel mentors bruno
Sf Carroll, James Johnson (can slide over to get some small ball 4)
PF Faried, Patterson
c Val Bebe
Second unit would be Joseph, Wright, James Johnson, Patterson and Bebe
If JJ can't be used by Casey they can trade him away give those minutes to Bruno/Dorrel Wright.
Thoughts? Free agency will be very interesting indeed. Lots of directions this could go.

Replaced derozen with the Knicks pick.
Why would we want to pay derozen all that money instead?

Re: raps off-season.
Don't want Faried. PF isn't the main concern, regardless if the Raptors are talking Aldridge.
Raps need to get a legit starting SF first. Try your luck at Carroll, Middleton, and Harris. Aminu and Shumpert are also avalilable. Find out if you can get Biyombo and/or Wright. Then we can try to find a PF. I doubt Aldridge signs here.
Getting Cory Joseph wouldn't make sense unless Lowry is gone too. If not, why draft Delon Wright ?

Play lots of two point guard line-ups legend. I think that is the new wave of the nba. Joseph and lowry are both very comfortable playing off-ball.
Faried can rebound, Carrol can do a bit of everything. Then we still have the knicks/nuggets pick to package with our first rounder/ and or the next years first rounder to move up in next years draft. Draft a future star and then see what Free agency brings you next summer.
Plan A would be to get Aldridge and Wes Mathews, but that is a hail mary I would think. I'm a positive raptor fan, but also realistic. Being a perennial star in the east may be appealing for Aldridge though. Moving demar and Lowry to 2nd and 3rd options would be ideal though.
I think Faried can play with Patterson in some small ball lineups

Re: raps off-season.
I know Cory can play off ball and at the 2, but there's no indication he has a lot of range. If he was hitting more 3's, I would be more willing to get him. I don't mind if the Raptors get him, but I don't know if it works. Him and Wright have some redundant skills, kinda like how Lou and GV were last year.
I actually don't mind getting Matthews, that's a good consolation prize (along with getting other wings) if the Raps miss out on Aldridge.

It sucks that we could have just drafted Aldridge over Bargnani in the first place.

Aminu is a strike. Seems the same with Middleton.
That means Raps have to get after DeMarre or Harris for SF help.

Signed DeMarre to 4 years/60 million.
Wonder if that means Lou stays ?
