If duncan and kobe had played together, Kobe would now be considered the GOAT and duncan would look like kobe's pippen. Together they would have easily won at least 9 championships.

Zero rigs, first season second round exit in playoffs. Kobe is upset because Pop benched him after his 5/15 FG and run plays around Duncan. Then he goes to the media and claims he is unhappy. Pop gets fired , duncan gets traded and they rebuild around kobe.

Kobe can't play under a coach like Pop and Pop cant manage a team with Kobe. This could work if spurs had draft Kobe while they already had duncan. Maybe then pop would be able to manage kobe while he still thinks he is human.

Better than Shaq / Kobe because Duncan is a superior defender, with more longevity. Then ontop of it, the reason the Shaq - Kobe Lakers self destructed was due to ego clashes. I don't think that happens between Duncan and Kobe.

Yea, Pop may not be able to manage egos the way PJ could from a mind game perspective. But it's interesting to think about. I think Kobe would ultimately respect Duncan, and Pops more due to the work ethic that Shaq lacked.
