Woj states Rivers no longer pursuing Clips job. Deal really dead this time?

This is based on Clips offering '14 2nd or protected '15 1st. Celts want '14 1st

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 13m
After talks failed again on Friday, Doc Rivers will no longer pursue the Clippers coaching job, league source tells Y!

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 48m
Celtics and Doc Rivers' camp rapidly reaching belief there's no deal to be made with Clippers. Rivers flying back to Orlando.

Smokescreen to do the KG deal without Stern being a bitch. No way a guy like Rondo would take his coach back after this.

Deal is off. Rivers has told the Clippers he has no interest in the job any longer.

Clippers refused to give up first round pick as compensation. Evidently this turned Rivers off

First off yeah he is if that's what makes CP3 happy.
Secondly they wouldn't even give up one first round pick for Doc

Ainge had wanted a first-round draft pick from the Clippers to let Rivers out of his contract, but the Clippers offered only a future second-round pick, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Within the NBA, there had been growing doubt that owner Donald Sterling wanted to pay the five-year, $35 million contract he had negotiated with Rivers, nor give up any first-round picks in the deal.
Free-agent star Chris Paul pushed the Clippers to hire Rivers as coach, but will have to settle for Lionel Hollins, Brian Shaw or Byron Scott if he plans to re-sign with Los Angeles in July. Paul is unhappy with the fallout over the failed deal, sources told Yahoo! Sports on Friday night.

If it makes CP happy, then sure, but after the Elton Brand/Baron Davis fiasco, I'm iffy on paying a boatload for anyone while not getting everything on the dotted line. What do the Clippers do if they pay Rivers 7 mil a year for 5 years and Paul ends up changing his mind for whatever reason? Sterling would surely pull back on money for players due to coaches salary.

And from what I've read, Clips offered 2014 2nd or 2015 Protected First but Boston wants 2014. I'd have no issues giving them a 2014 first and 2015 second for Boston's 2nd in 2015, if and when CP signs on the dotted line.
