Not true. Roy's extension doesn't effect the 09-10 cap space. It goes into effect next summer.

Good move.

If Portland didn't give Roy a max deal, I gaurantee someone else would have.


Roy seems like the type of player that will actually be motivated by something like this as well. I'm expecting big things from Roy next season.

Either way our cap situation was use it or lose it. Get the FA first, then extend Roy

That's what I thought too but that's not true. The extension kicks in after this up coming season so we'd still have room if we signed Roy before Miller. In NBA 2k9 what you are saying is true, I've found out the hard way. It would just be silly if you had to sign a FA first before doing an extension that doesn't kick in until a year later.
