Indiana- All or nothing this year
You get the feeling that the Pacers are cashing in all their chips this year and going for broke.
Kinda sorta like Denver or the Knicks last year- they're going for all or nothing this year.
I feel like anything short of the conference finals will be an enormous failure, and I think they'll blow up the roster if they can't even get past the 2nd round.
And god help us if they go '07 Mavs on us.

Re: Indiana- All or nothing this year
With the way Miami's been playing so far, they've got a good shot at making it to the finals. We'll have a better idea when Pacers & Heat go against eachother this year... Granger needs to come back though, then we'll get an idea of how things will look for them.

Re: Indiana- All or nothing this year
except theyre not going for broke. their core is all locked until 2015 except for Stephenson and Granger. with the right moves, they will still be contending past that with George and Hibbert being the 1-2 punches that can still improve.
They look strong this year but then again its still early.

Huh? Pacers have a young core.. They are going to be a top team for years.

Re: Indiana- All or nothing this year
What the hell?
They aren't going to blow up the roster, that's a retarded assumption.
They have a young superstar in Paul George and a young ace coach, and the roster goes as they go.
George doesn't have a contract extension and if they were really going "all or nothing" like you think so, they would have blown the cap on some impact free agent(s).
Instead they did the savvy thing and signed some impact veterans in Scola and Watson, and will give George a well deserved contract extension.
Seriously, blowing up the roster would imply not locking him up long term.
Think about that for a second, because your post is just filled with a buzz word and dumb assumptions/hypothetical that don't align with reality.
They will get a top 3 seed and advance far in the playoffs. All the other teams that were suppose to be tops in the East (Brooklyn, Chicago, Miami, New York) all look like shit right now.

Re: Indiana- All or nothing this year
George Hill - 27 years old
Roy Hibbert - 26
Paul George - 23
Lance Stephenson - 23
David West - 33
This team is very young and hungry and title contender for several years.

Re: Indiana- All or nothing this year
how's that? young team and PG hasn't really reached his peak yet. west will decline soon enough but they can trade granger for a future draft pick or package him for another solid role player. this team will be fine (and by fine, i mean contending in the east) for at least the next three seasons barring catastrophic drafting, injuries and personnel decisions.

Why? Only older players they have are West and Scola. Going to have tons of flexibility as well.
PG looks like a superstar as well.

Re: Indiana- All or nothing this year
Hill, Hibbert, and George just signed huge contract extensions. We've got them locked up for at least 4 years. West just signed on for 3 more years. Stephenson will, without a doubt, sign a contract extension after this year.
Please don't compare our front office with the Knicks'.

Re: Indiana- All or nothing this year
This Pacers-Heat rivalry will last for years. Like the Bulls-Knicks rivalry in the 90s. When MJ was going for his second championship the Knicks became a problem for them, just like with LeBron and Pacers. They aren't blowing it up, they'll be a pain in the ass for the Heat for years now.

Do you ejaculate pre-maturely too? There's 75 fucking games left in the season for most teams.

Just because a team doesnt win the finals it doesnt mean they are a failure.
I think such high expectations apply to a few teams such as the 04 Lakers

Yes it does. For the foreseeable future any year the Pacers don't win a title is a failure. That doesn't mean they sucked or can't have a really strong season. But the goal's a title, if they don't get it it's a failure.
