    Default Eric Bledsoe free agency

The Suns are open to having further contract negotiations with Eric Bledsoe.

It sounds like Bledsoe and his representation are keeping that door closed.

Six weeks into free agency, Suns Managing Partner Robert Sarver expressed how he still wants to sign Bledsoe to a long-term contract with the Suns. He also just wants to be able to talk to Bledsoe.

"We value Eric as a player," Sarver said. "I hope at some point we'll be able to sit down and meet with those guys and make a deal."
[QUOTE]A Comcast SportsNet Northwest report quoted a source who said the Suns' relationship with Bledsoe "is on the express lane to being ruined."

ESPN.com's Chris Broussard reported that the relationship is going in the "wrong direction."

"Maybe that's just posturing and negotiating," Sarver said of the reports. "We haven't heard from the guy in four months, so I couldn't tell you. I do know that when he played here, he felt good about the organization, his coaching staff and his teammates at the end of the season. We had the same feelings toward him."

Bledsoe's options dried up elsewhere without an offer sheet from any other team.

An outside offer to the restricted free agent is extremely doubtful at this stage, especially for the maximum-salary deal that his agents, Rich Paul and Mark Termini, sought

I read yesterday the Suns haven't actually talked to him in over 4 months. His best option is sign and trade if he doesn't want to play for less than his max contract.. It seems the Suns aren't going to budge from that position, which I applaud. I don't mind him coming back to the team, it's not personal, it's business.

Definitely not worth the money he wants, put together a full season then talk money.

Jude LaCava usually doesnt say things like that, so he must know something. I dont mind them trading Bledsoe for a big, as long as it is not Hibbert.....

Still no idea what's the case with Bledsoe,

By Monday, there still will be three weeks remaining until the Suns depart for training camp in Flagstaff, but a roll call would garner nearly the same result this week.

Twelve of the 13 Suns under contract are expected to be at US Airways Center for weekday voluntary workouts. The other, Goran Dragic, is in Spain being a national hero in leading Slovenia to a World Cup quarterfinal matchup Tuesday against the United States.

The problem is that the player tally should be at 14.

Eric Bledsoe's whereabouts never have included Phoenix since the end of the regular season in April. Bledsoe has not even been close with his recent locales. He mostly has been training and with his family in his hometown of Birmingham. He popped into Atlanta a week ago for a party and workout with college buddy John Wall. He spent some of last week in Cleveland for a workout with LeBron James that was marked by James prodding the Suns with a "PHX break bread" Instagram post regarding Bledsoe, his fellow Klutch Sports Group client.
    Meanwhile..

Suns guard Goran Dragic has turned himself into one of the NBA's best players.

Now, Dragic has to lead Slovenia against a team full of the NBA's best players.

Dragic and his brother, Zoran, led Slovenia to a 71-61 victory over the Dominican Republic on Saturday, advancing the men in green to a World Cup quarterfinal game at noon (Phoenix time) Tuesday against the United States.

Slovenia, with Dragic as its only NBA player, entered the World Cup ranked 13th but will be among the tournament's final eight teams in Spain after never previously finishing higher than eighth place.

Slovenia has gone 5-1 at the World Cup but was trailing 28-23 before going on a 19-0 run that included seven of Zoran Dragic's team-high 18 points.

Dominican Republic made a fourth-quarter charge to cut the lead to 57-55 with 6:16 to go but Goran Dragic's pull-up jumper thwarted the effort and Slovenia pulled away down the stretch.

Goran Dragic tallied 12 points, six assists and six turnovers. He made six of 12 shots but missed all four of his 3-point shots after missing all five of his 3s on Thursday in a narrow group-play loss to Lithuania.

For the tournament, Goran Dragic is averaging 16.5 points and 4.3 assists in 25.7 minutes per game. He is shooting 59 percent from the field and was 10 of 17 on 3s until going 0 for 9 in the past two games. Zoran Dragic, who is drawing NBA interest, is Slovenia's second-leading scorer at 13.2 points per game on 54 percent shooting (11 for 24 on 3s).

Slovenia played the U.S. in an exhibition on Aug. 26, losing 101-71. Slovenia, a nation of about 2 million people, has faced the U.S. twice in international tournament play, losing 114-95 in the 2006 World Championship and 99-77 in the 2010 World Championship (now called the World Cup). Dragic, 28, played for the national team each time but has become the team's leader in recent years.
Got to keep Dragic, even if he command the max. The Suns better know who to throw their money at.

Bledsoe had threatened to play next season under a one-year qualifying offer, which would have given him the ability to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

But unlike Greg Monroe of the Pistons, who took that qualifying offer after playing in all but three games during his first four seasons, durability has been a concern for Bledsoe, who has missed about half of two separate seasons — including last year in Phoenix — with significant injuries.

Bledsoe can’t afford to take that risk, so his agent once again coming to the negotiating table at this late hour makes plenty of sense.

It’ll be interesting to see whether he tries to land a shorter deal of maybe two years, in order to up his value for a future free agency period while still netting a modicum of financial security with a guaranteed multi-year deal. But regardless of how it ultimately plays out, it seems as though fences are on the way to being mended between Bledsoe and the Suns.
I personally do not want any of these dramas in Phoenix, Bledsoe does not want to be a part of the team and he's just playing for himself. Regardless I believe the Suns will do what's best for the team.
