How much will Kobe charge once he retires? $150k a week?

Stoudemire will spend two weeks with Hakeem Olajuwon in Houston next month. The cost of learning The Dream Shake? $50,000 a week is what we were told. Now, we don't know of Olajuwon is charging Stoudemire full price, but Amar'e plans to get bang for his buck. He said he plans to memorize every lesson so he can expand his game to include one or two go-to moves on the post. Stoudemire has been known as mostly a pick-and-roll player who developed a mid-range jumper in 2010-11. Mike Woodson wanted him to be more of a threat in the post, so he asked his former Rockets teammate to spend some time with Stoudemire. Tyson Chandler is also expected to spend some time with Olajuwon after the Olympics.

So far he has schooled kobe, bron, and now Amare...

Not sure why some people think it's a bad idea that Hakeem is getting paid. Some people expect him to teach for free. If someone is paying you to teach, it's wise to take the money. Someone suggested that a coach could teach the sames moves, but it's not the same. Hakeem could give an insight of a player who used those moves even against hall of fame legends versus a coach who just watches the moves on tape. Hakeem will explain to his students on what to watch out for from the defense so they can perform the right moves during the right situation or when it's time go to plan B. 50K is not a lot of money for NBA superstars so I'm not sure why some people think it's a ripoff. Marcin Gortat went to with Hakeem in an offseason and now has an improved post game.

I have to say I consider that very naive.

No issue with Hakeem charging at all, he's spending his time to try and help you. Especially since it's getting popular to go to him, no reason he shouldn't charge. Would you do free work?

If you have to pay somebody 50K a week to show you how to play the game, just give up.

Some people need to have a spell.

First, Olajuwon is one of the greatest post players ever. Of course players improve, even if its 10 mins with him. Get real.

Second, he may be broke. He may give the $50K to charity. He may blow it at the poker table. Who cares.

50k is like nothing to these players so it shouldn't be a big deal. It's not like he is charging 50k to like high schoolers or something.

Kobe did improve, he learned Hakeem's post moves and footwork, he began using this stuff immediately. Kobe himself said it was a big help.
Guys wouldn't be going to him if it didn't help.....end of story!!!!

No, they train like one week with him! Mastering these moves take YEARS, not weeks.
