Re: NBA Card Collector?
I have a huge collection of raw cards of Magic, Kareem, Bird, Jordan, Shaq, Kobe, and most of the 80's and 90's stars. I probably have one of the largest and most complete privately owned collections of Magic Johnson cards in the world.
I have PSA 10 sets on the PSA Registy of...
Magic Johnson master set
Magic Johnson basic set
Larry Bird master set
Larry Bird basic set
Kobe Bryant rookie set
Michael Jordan basic set
Blake Griffin rookie set
Some of my favorite cards are my 1993 Magic/Bird Hoops dual auto, my Magic/Bird rookie, and my 2009 Panini prestige Kobe auto. I have auto cards of most of the Lakers players from the back to back championship teams. Still looking for Gasol.

Re: NBA Card Collector?
I stopped collecting around 2005 because I couldn't afford it anymore, due to college tuition.
I don't have anything ridiculously valuable, but it's a decent sized collection. Some notables:
Dwyane Wade 2003-04 Topps Rookie Photo Shoot Autograph (only 56 in existence)
400 Michael Jordan cards
Peyton Manning Upper Deck authenticated autographed football (not basketball or a trading card, but it came from a redemption card from a pack of Upper Deck)
Kobe Bryant rookie cards (Upper Deck, Metal Universe, Topps)
A bunch of autograph cards of players like Bibby, Jamison, Mo Williams, Marion, Gerald Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Maggette, Ariza, Kevin Martin, etc.

Re: NBA Card Collector?
used to have an autographed rookie card of Yao Ming back in like 03. was valued at about 250 in those upper deck books, doubt its worth close to that anymore

I have a ton of autographs that nobody wants if that counts. Michael Ruffin, Darius Songalia, Maurice Ager, Brandon Bass, guys like that.

I don't anymore. They won't fetch nearly as much as they used to. I might start again, though. I need something to collect.

That would only matter if I planned to sell them. I obviously didn't acquire every Stromile Swift basketball card known to man as an investment. That would make me a f@cking idiot.

Re: NBA Card Collector?
I bought one pack of 1981 Topps cards last Sunday. It contained a Magic Johnson card. I also bought some ABA cards. One was of Warren Jabali. He was one of the meanest players of all-time. He scored 39 points in the deciding game of the ABA Finals one year.
