Put 2006 Kobe on the 90s Knicks
Replace Starks with Kobe.
Do they get past the Bulls? Do they beat Houston in 1994?

Knicks all da way
Re: Put 2006 Kobe on the 90s Knicks
Yes and Yes.
I love Starks, my favorite player of all time but Kobe is a million times the player he was. And Ewing would not have an issue with Kobe getting all the glory because Ewing was not nearly as insecure as Shaq was.

Now, you realize Kobe's going against prime MJ here. He'd probably get caught up in trying to outplay MJ and could take his team out of it.
And, Kobe's never ran into a dominant presence in the middle like 1994 Dream in the playoffs (and yes, as a presence in the middle, Dream > Duncan).

2006 Kobe shows MJ that sometimes the sequel IS better than the original and the Knicks beat the Bulls in 6 en route to a title.

The Rockets barely beat the Knicks in 7 games and you think the outcome wouldn't change if John Starks was replaced by one of the greatest players of all time and during his absolute peak. ?

Pretty much.
The Knicks always played the Bulls tough. You replace a perennial choke artist w/ the 2nd greatest SG all time, and it's a wrap. I'm a big MJ fan, but the answer is....obvious.

They'd probably have at least one title.
Starks gets too much flack for the 94' Finals though. In fact, his awful game 7 kind of makes people forget how terrible Ewing was offensively throughout the whole series.
Dude averaged 19 PPG on 23 FGA.
Starks had better offensive numbers in the series than Ewing, even after game 7.
Ewing got outplayed by Hakeem just as bad as D-Rob in the 95 WCF, if not worse.
