Why did Knicks trade Chandler?
It's not like he was the problem? 7+ feet elite defenders are also so rare in this league, especially a quality one like Chandler.

Decent college freshman
Re: Why did Knicks trade Chandler?
Cause Melo couldn't use him as a scapegoat and cause Chandler dresses better than him.

because he and melo did not get along. Bill Simmons talks about this with Zach Lowe on hist latest BS report
It was a move by the FO to show melo they wanted to lock him up and make him the decision maker/franchise.

That's kind of weird since Chandler tried to recruit Melo to Dallas.
I think getting a point guard better than Felton was the real driver, but who knows.

"While the deal isn't official just yet, the decision to trade Chandler would be one that saves the Knicks money. New York plans to attract a major free agent or two in the summer of 2015, and getting out of Felton's player option for the 2015-16 season will open up money.
Dalembert's contract for the 2014-15 season is only partially guaranteed, with the Knicks on the hook for $1.8 million of his $3.8 million salary if he's waived. Larkin represents a short but athletic young point who could give the Knicks a badly needed jolt in the backcourt.
Chandler has one year and $14.5 million left on his deal. He was limited to 55 games last season after suffering a fractured right leg in November. Chandler turns 32 in October, but can still be an effective rim protector. Dallas' interior defense struggled last season. The Mavericks were No. 22 in points allowed per 100 possessions.

yeah, it might not be true, but its what Bill Simmons has claimed several times and hes pretty tuned in to this kind of stuff.

Re: Why did Knicks trade Chandler?
Didn't Chandler bash CAA and Melo's represented by CAA, right? He may have tried to convince Melo to get to Dallas, but I think that was a fractured relationship.

Re: Why did Knicks trade Chandler?
Chandler didn't play that well in NY after his 1st season. He was very inconsistent and had flu like symptoms 18 times a season
source: I actually watch every Knicks game
