BIRMINGHAM Ala. (Reuters) - An Alabama man who sued over being hit and kicked by police after leading them on a high-speed chase will get $1,000 in a settlement with the city of Birmingham, while his attorneys will take in $459,000, officials said Wednesday.

Can't really say I'm sorry for him, he tried to kill a cop but he wouldn't be able to enjoy it anytime soon anyway because he's serving 20 years in jail for attempted murder.

Since Obomber is into forcing people to get insurance, he should force cops to get insured for incidents of neglegence and brutality. Raise their premiums every time they have an incident until the insurance company deems them uninsurable. Then let it come out of their own pay. Oh but that makes too much common sense. And since when did the judicial system change so as to hold court out in the field where the prosecutor, defense team, judge, and only expert witness is the cop?

Most if not all municipalities (some self insure) have insurance polices that cover this type of thing, and most police departments are unionized. Individual officers pay union dues out of every paycheck.
