Re: OKC Is Going to Expose the Spurs
Not happening, sorry. These Spurs are one of the all time great teams. People say stupid shit like "Well they beat the Jazz and Clippers". Let's not forget they have won something like 30 of their last 32 games and 18 or 19 straight.

Beating the 8th seed and worst franchise in sports history still doesn't impress me.

Spurs in 5. OKC is gonna get so much taken away because of Pop's defensive scheme. Unless Ibaka can destroy Duncan on defense....I think this series is gonna be ugly. Westbrook can't play point well enough to off the pick and roll to handle what SAS is gonna make them do.
Westbrook is gonna look real bad this series. Oddly enough, the only team could have beat SAS was the Lakers or Heat. Thunder don't match up well.

TP murdered Westbrook this year too.

Re: OKC Is Going to Expose the Spurs
Expose them in what way?
We're talking about a #1 and a #2 here. San Antonio is 8-0 in the playoffs but they played a #8 and a #5. OKC is 8-1 playing a #7 and a #3. That's pretty damn good. We're going into a series matching the two best teams currently in the playoffs. This should be the NBA Finals. OKC winning in 6 doesn't expose the Spurs in any way. I could see that argument if the Thunder sweep the Spurs but not a 6 game series.

Re: OKC Is Going to Expose the Spurs
this is going to be a 7 game series, as an okc fan i am realistic enough to admit that the spurs are currently the best team in the nba. they're at 100% playing team-ball and have the best coach in the nba guiding them through the playoffs. more than likely, the spurs will win this series, but it will be one hell of a series.
i expect this to be a memorable series...

Wrong, what Pop did in the Clippers series was just get the ball out of CP3's hands.. If OKC has a line up of Russ, Harden en KD in.. that' not really gonna work. It's not gonna be that simple.

what they did was cut off the floor and force certain passes(the passes they wanted LAC to have). They have shown that their defensive rotations are more than solid and they have size and a great anchor. They are going to push Westbrook off his spot and force him to shoot from different areas or make plays. We will see if Ibaka is capable of doing this.
The Laker's defensive gameplan was solid but they didn't have the right players. The Spurs have the right players....they are smart, on the same page and savvy. Guarantee you that Harden doesn't parade to the line like that...Guarantee you that Westbrook has 4+ turnovers every game. Guarantee you Perkins gets called for some of those screens. Plus, Splitter and Duncan know how to level off guys like Harden without fouling unlike that Laker bigs. Diaw will step in and is savvy enough to read Harden and get a charge. This Spurs team is weak towards post players and big frontlines...they are very strong against the pick and roll...it is like they were built to stop it.
With OKC...what you have to do is cut off the floor and the Spurs do this better than any team in the league. Spurs have soo many smart savvy guys out there that I see OKC turning the ball over alot. And if Leonard steps up on defense --> this could be a big problem for OKC.

Agreed.
Perkins/Ibaka can do better job on Duncan defensively. Tony Parker might struggle against bigger & more athletic guard and best shot blocker in the paint.
Clippers & Jazz were crappy teams with overrated stars and bad coaches.
My biggest concern for OKC their coach. He is not good eighter.

Re: OKC Is Going to Expose the Spurs
OKC's biggest problem is Perkins is the only guy who can defend screen rolls. Ibaka is incapable (although he will get better.) Spurs screen roll teams to death.
