Phil brings credibility and Dolan wont interfere with his work.

I'm for it only cause I know Phil is gonna clean house.

I dont think Phil should be a GM but he could be a coach. I dont know if he has a number 2 in mind because I can only see him coaching a couple of years. Then he can be a glorified office worker when its all said and done.

Phil really isnt down for coaching anymore, but may do it to groom someone in.

He wants what Pat Riley has in Miami....total control primarily of the basketball operations.

Phil isn't going to come here, not as a GM and certainly not as a head coach.

He's a smart man,he knows the Knicks organization is simply a mess and he doesn't want to have anything to do with it.
He wants to have full control and with Dolan that's impossible.

If the latest reports are true Phil might be on his way....

THIS JUST IN: Phil Jackson is leaning toward taking job with Knicks to become president of basketball operations. (via @stephenasmith)

All i ask for is a roster gut, and a team that resembles one.

I'm sure phil could do that.

Phil's got love for his old home, and will get love like no other from the fans. Jim's gonna give him the keys and go tour with his blues band.

He'll clean house and bring in good players. I saw that change of demeanor on the player's faces last night. Shit's gonna get real.

I remember distinctly he pushed for certain players while in LA that werent that good that he was overridden by Jerry West. He is going to need a good team around him and not just yes men.

This move would be a good start if Dolan takes a back seat though. And the credibility of the organization increases tremendously.

    Only the perfect move.

They need to get him on the bench though. Carmelo would average 15 free throws a game and prob over 50% playing from the spots Phil puts guys in as opposed the everything off the dribble from the perimeter

    Shumpert/stuckey/jimmer
    JR/hardaway jr
    Carmelo
    Bargnani/amare
    Chandler/Jason smith

Kevin love to replace amare and chandler the next year. 3 seed next year, championship in 2

This is an interesting caveat. Phil doesnt seem to be a Melo guy. So if he takes the position I dont think the probabilities favors him returning. Yet, Melo has evolved as a player in some respects maybe the Zen Master can see him becoming a star.

15 free throws...come on now. No one is even averaging over 10 currently and that includes the known floppers.

But it might be news for you....perhaps Phil doesnt want Melo here....after all he was part of the 'clumsy" group that he talked about before.

Might be. But then there's the other 90% chance that it's Melo who stays and they don't put all the rest of the money into amare and chandler who both fit with Carmelo terribly.

Carmelo/Bargnani/JR is a good start for Phil. Shumpert can learn to play gaurd and give the Knicks top 5 gaurd defense or he can hit the road if he can't learn to make entry passes
