Arrow The Fall of Andre Iguodala

Since preseason, I've noticed a massive dip in quality from him. I thought ok, preseason and it doesn't matter. Livingston has been subpar to poor then as well, but he's played better and better over the season. Iguadala on the other hand has been pretty terrible in all but 1 game. Defense has been mediocre, but offensively he has been atrocious.

    4.9/3.1/3.6
    FG 37%
    3P 17%
    PER 8.5
    on 27 minutes.

    last season
    7/4/3.4
    FG 47%
    3P 35%
    on 27 minutes.

I know ISH is a cesspool of overreaction (like Kyrie turning into an awful player because of a single game just two days ago for example ), but I think father time has caught up with him. He is not explosive and many times instead of dunking, has tried these awkward lay ups that are easy 2 points. He's missed nearly every single one. His defense has been solid IMO, but he's still not the dominant player he used to be. If Warriors make the final to play the Cavs, Iggy is going to get used and abused by Bron bron if he's on his game. If there's one player that Lebron Shang Tsung'd the soul out of that final, it's Andre. I don't know if he still has back issues and is afraid of the landing, but he looks scared to dunk out there. Man looks shook on easy points.

Considering that the bench got worse since last season and Iggy/Shaun are supposed to lead it, this is a very worrying issue.

Iguodala is part of a whole in Golden State. Honestly, no matter how bad he is, the team can still win any game, any series, and would be worse off if he weren't there.

He's obviously not nearly as bad as old Noah, Fisher, or Perkins; but he has the same sort of staying power and intangible value.

His play will pick up but I won't be shocked if we never see strong offensive play from him again.

    He'll be fine.

Klay and Iggy are having terrible starts to the season. Zaza looks lost out there at times.

If these three can get their shit together a little bit, the Warriors will start rolling. That's really all it's going to take.

This statement only makes MJ shitting on the entire league in 1998 at 35 years old all that much more impressive.

I think it'll probably just take Iggy's body to get used to playing at game speed. He's still athletic as hell and fully capable.

    Exactly.

Consistency, production, and durability as evident by Wade / Iggy at the guard positions based on extreme quickness ... declines rapidly after age 32.

But it makes these look all the more impressive.

    Kobe 2012 - 33 years old
    28 ppg, 5 rpg, 5 apg

    Kobe 2013 - 34 years old
    27 ppg, 6 rpg, 6 apg

    And of course ...

    Jordan 1996 - 33 years old (MVP)
    30 ppg, 7 rpg, 4 apg

    Jordan 1997 - 34 years old
    30 ppg, 6 rpg, 4 apg

    Jordan 1998 - 35 years old (MVP)
    29 ppg, 6 rpg, 4 apg

    Amd even this ...

    Jordan 2002 - 39 years old
    23 ppg, 6 rpg, 5 apg

    Jordan 2003 - 40 years old
    20 ppg, 6 rpg, 4 apg

He might still have some back pain, he did have the summer to rehab it but I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason he's playing so slowly
