Now... don't be fooled by the narrative that "oh, it was only physical" argument.

These teams employed every defensive tactic whether it was legal or not. From zone, doubling off the ball, 'stunting', camping in the paint, double and triple teaming, handchecking, hard traps you name it these teams did it.

And I understand that the emphasis is usually on the Knicks and Pistons for good reason. But most teams in the East employed these same tactics, these teams just happened to get most of the shine because they were dirtier and tougher.

Most teams in the East back then had 'enforcers' and their own version of the 'Jordan Rules'.

The Lakers were 10th defensively when Lebron got hurt, 7th when he was out, and 25th since he's been back

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LZRXVRr0qPE&t=04m44s

And in Lebron's last 4 Finals losses (14/15/17/18), no spurs or warrior scored more than 3 pts above their regular season average except Iggy (8.5), Durant (10.1), and Kawhi (5.0).. and McGee (4.0).. so only lebron let his man go off..

he's basically a fraud that will never win again regardless of free agency.. it doesn't matter if everyone plays great D - the team will still be weak defensively if lebron can't play D and is this massive leak on that end

It's kinda funny how awful everything was back then. Not just the basketball, which is to be expected but the announcing. What a miserable era.

Oh and ya and the defense is also ****ing awful btw

Ur craaaaazy bro.. Chick Hearn... and Jim Durham was goat:

And basketball looks uglier to the casual fan without spacing.. it's a tougher way to play that required more skill and great plays were much harder to come by then today's spaced-out free-for-all

Btw, even if everyone else plays great D, the team will have weak D because of lebron's bad D and being a massive leak on that end.. lebron alone causes bad team defense.. so he'll never win again regardless of cast
